⛏️ Where to Find Chromite
Chromite is Palworld 1.0's hidden late-game ore — buried on Feybreak Island until you reveal it with a Metal Detector or Smokie.
Chromite spawns almost exclusively in caves and tunnels on Feybreak Island. It's a hidden resource — it doesn't appear as normal rock. Reveal it with a Metal Detector (Tech ~Lv. 56–58) or Smokie's Partner Skill, then mine with a Plasma Multicutter (Lv. 54). Smelt it into Hexolite for late-game gear.
What You Need First
- Metal Detector — unlock around Technology Level 56–58, keep it in your inventory to detect buried Chromite
- Smokie + Smokie's Harness (Lv. 58) — the "Dig, Smokie! Dig!" skill detects Chromite and can double your yield (up to +200% at higher ranks)
- Plasma Multicutter (Lv. 54) — the fastest mining tool for the job

How to Farm Chromite
- Fast-travel to a Feybreak cave entrance (e.g. Wild Lands Floodgate, then enter the cave at -913, -1317)
- Equip the Metal Detector and/or activate Smokie's skill while moving slowly through the cave
- Reveal the hidden Chromite mounds, then summon Smokie before mining to get double drops
- Mine with the Plasma Multicutter for the best yield per run
At Technology Level 78 you can unlock the Ancient Material Synthesizer to produce Chromite passively at your base, removing the need for manual runs.
What Chromite Is Used For
There is no "Chromite Ingot" — Chromite is smelted into Hexolite at the Gigantic Furnace:
1 Hexolite = 5 Chromite + 12 Hexolite Quartz + 20 Ore
Hexolite then crafts late-game gear, weapons, and facilities, including:
- Beam Sword and Bastigor's Hammer (150 Chromite each)
- Charge Rifle (750 Chromite) and Laser Gatling Gun (500 Chromite)
- Hexolite Armor / Helmet (from 250 Chromite per piece)
- Triple Jump Boots (150 Chromite)
- Exotic Sphere (5 Chromite each)
- Advanced Sphere Assembly Line II (250 Chromite)
