Palworld 1.0 added 18 specialized visiting merchants across six categories — meat, vegetables, ammo, medicine, food, and Pal materials. They arrive at your base through visitor events, and you can reroll or capture the one you want.
🔁 How Legendary Merchants Work
These are visitor NPCs, not the fixed settlement merchants you find on the map. The flow looks like this:
- Build a base with a Palbox
- Wait for a visitor event
- The merchant appears at your base
- Identify the merchant type
- Keep it, reroll it, or capture it
Which merchants can appear depends on your base level — higher-level bases unlock more specialized (and rarer) merchant types.
📋 The Six Merchant Categories
The 18 specialized visiting merchants fall into six categories. Rather than memorizing individual names, match the category to what you need:

🏗️ How to Spawn & Reroll Legendary Merchants
You don't find these merchants at a fixed spot — you make them come to you:
- Build a Palbox in an open area (a dedicated spawn base works best)
- Raise your base level to unlock more specialized merchant types
- Wait for a visitor event to bring a merchant to the base
- Reroll if needed: dismantle the Palbox and rebuild it to force a new visitor event, repeating until the merchant type you want appears
Don't confuse these visiting merchants with wandering merchants or fixed settlement merchants — the latter are map NPCs, while legendary merchants are visitor events at your own base.
🎯 How to Capture a Legendary Merchant
The merchant arriving is only half the battle — capturing one takes preparation:
- Bring high-level Spheres — these merchants have high capture resistance
- Clear or control the merchant's high-level guards first
- Watch for a Wanted level — the attempt can alert PIDF
- Avoid letting your whole base's Pals join the fight
- Once captured, the merchant can serve as a permanent merchant in your base
